Education and Learning, Just about Anything

A Milestone for Daughter Mikaylah-Growing up.

My daughter Mikaylah in a way has passed a great milestone in my eyes but for many its not really a milestone as she completed 4th grade and going on to 5th grade. I have seen our daughter grow up so much in these last years, in a way it’s frightening because of how fast time flies.

I remember so well my fourth-grade teacher Ms. Jean Rothermel of Bell Gardens Elementary School, an incredibly special teacher to me who always showed me kindness to myself, mother and sister.

I remember this time because she would often invite us to her home and take us to lunch. But what makes her so memorable is that she took an interest in me and my interest. At the time It was all rage of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and my love for turtles, and she would collect turtles and gift them to me. She was an older woman at that time, so most likely she has already passed on by now, but she was so special.

I try to remember my daughter’s teachers because each of them are very special as well and always try to show my appreciation for each of them.

May we who have children especially appreciate those teachers and the impact they make in their lives because we have or had teachers who had great impacts on us, I remember them even today such as Ms. Marsha Carey who gifted me her iguana, my middle school drama teacher,  Mr. David Miller, my high school business teacher and even in college Mrs. Sheila Hosteler my Business law professor, so many I remember.

I am hopeful one day I will see my daughter’s high school graduation and even college if she chooses to go.

Here’s to another year of growth!
