I often think about the innocence of times, being a lover of history and simple times. As of now I am watching “Little House of Prairie”, a show that ran from 1974-1983, a show I had never seen before but heard about the incredible writing, storytelling based of the written works of Laura Ingalls Wilder books. Taking place around the 1870s about life in the old west, I time in period I really love, although If I was living in that time today, not sure If I could cut, but would have had.
The show is too damn heartwarming at times, with the ingals family, the town, his friends and life. I mean you watch this show and you can only think, I feel like I am watching television from a time when innocense reflected in television and movies, but that is all gone today, but its okay, times them a changing.
I look at today’s times, especially during this election season, where polticians throw insults, fill the space with hate and anger, but I guess thats politics. I’ll admit I hate politics, and what it stands for today, where its no longer about doing what is right for the people but doing what is right the person, making their money, self dealing and doing what it takes to WIN. Not only that, once one wins, its not about the people, its about using their time to self deal, make a name for themselves and make their mark on history.
Today we have two candiates Harris verus Trump, two candiates who couldnt be more different. In my opinion one is highly intelligent, college educated and has made a name for herself primirly in California. The other a former president and current business man, convicted felon and ultimate self dealer, who has used almost everything in his power to stay out of prision, where as most of us common folk would be in prison already. The other candiate is different and not always in the good way as stories of her treatment of her staff, her terrible attitude towards them forcing many to just quit. I get that is not uncommon to many workplaces, there are toxic people in every workplace and that doesnt make it right.
The people we elect and that are elected are represenatives of the people, for values that represent the people. Yes both canidates may not represent my values, but some do. A christian man myself, one would think I must automically vote for a man who has the christian confidence and vote, who will defend my religious freedom and protect me prosecution from the people and society and I say that only one person and God will do that, Jesus Christ.
Trump is not my defender or anyones defender, he will only defend himself from his own prosecution and potentially be put in jail, but the man will NEVER see a jail or prison because we live in society that has two justice systems, one for the rich and one for everyone else, where us commoners will eat it when we d wrong but the rich, the public figures.
There is certainly a culture war today of what society should look like with great focus on womens bodies, having the freedom to be who you want to be whether that is man or women, a born male wanting to be a female or a born female wanting to be male or nothing having a sex at all and society just accepting their choice. As people our choices are our own, but their also choices that batte with a living GOD Jesus, who loves us nonetheless, sinner and all.
I love people for who they are, male and female, straight, gay, or whatever your orientation is. I am not here to judge people for their choices, who am I to judge, but we do have a great deal of judgement in society, harshly unforgiving judgement. The bible speaks of judgment such as in Proverbs 21:2, “A person may think their own ways are right,but the Lord weighs the heart,”
I am imperfect myself to judgement and I have judged others harshly, but often judge myself more harshly for my inadequcies as a father and husband.
This political system, alot gets thrown around about the future of the country, if we choose Harris, our country will contnue to grow more progressive, we will be taken over all illegal immagrants who will take our jobs, lives and livihoods, turning our towns into more crime infested sespools.
I can not say I have seen this first hand, but have seen the changes in my own city, the increase in rent, cost of living and the ability to survive, something both candiates claim they will make better, but I highly doubt that and they most likly make things worse, because frankly they have no cares for the middle class, the poor, the ones just trying to make as both candiates are multi-millionaires with no concern or wealth or money.
This country has bigger problems too, like the state of homelessness and mental health and just health in this country, as if we rotting from within.
How can people be okay with such hate and division in a country, with poltical leaders wrapped up with their own wellbeing, carless about the people they are to represent.
We are definitely headed for trouble in this country, but it has been prophesied that the end is coming and JESUS is the answer. As Christians we shouldnt be suprised at what is happening in the world as the bible speaks of what is coming, but many even Christians fail to see that, but its all foretold.
Yes, the division, the hate, the anger and the disinformaton is overwhelming to the point of what are we to believe. How will we as people continue to survive and thrive under these conditions, and how the people are suspectible to great harm, both physically and mentally and who is paying attention that.
People are not okay, I am tired of people living under the illusion that Trump or Harris will make our lives better, they will not and that is because frankly they dont care, why should they care theyve made their life, made their money, have the security they need to be okay, while many struggle and suffer each day, who is thinking about those people, no one.
I am clearly conflicted because as a christan man, evangeticals are saying we MUST vote for trump, he is our answer, diefying him as some type of GOD, he is not god, he is by far one of the worst sinners we have seen in an office of trust, but who cares right, he will give us a better economy, make sure laws get passed to enrich his class. Again Harris is no better, she has her own agenda, but who knows what is.
Remember for many of us we are in the fight together, many who are struggling to be okay and that our biggest problem is making sure we are okay, that we have food on the table, roof over our heads and living this life to the fullest. Jesus already knows who he will make the next president, he sees all, although yes we vote for our leaders, he knows the outcome and why the future holds for us and his message is always cling to him, he will comfort and provide for us, no matter what, BELIVE.
It would be nice to ge back to the innocence of Little House on the Prairie, wholesomeness, but in esssence its a television show and there are others that dont reflect the old west in such a positive way like Deadwood, but when I watch Little House, I think of the time this show came on, which was during the time my mother was a teenager, and mother thinking she too watched this show and most likely loved it.
Where this country is headed who knows, but I wouldnt be suprised if Orwell predicted our future, be ready.
