We live in world that constantly tells us how much of nothings we are. Living in the U.S. I am confronted with this each day. As I live in a country of extreme wealth, millionaires and billionaires who use media to make it known to the world how little we are to this country and world and the impact they make each and every day.
Billionaires Rule our World, Media and Attention
I see billionaires like Musk and Bezos who make it know they have everything one could want in life, fame, power, money, intellect, and we the normal folks are nothing in comparison to them and our lives will NEVER amount to anything EVER compared to them. They are of course not the only people in this country and world who want the world to know how great they are.
I know we live in a world of self-promotion, influencers who pose as caring, but often care about the mighty buck, getting paid at whatever the cost.
I look at these people and although in the U.S. alone there are over 300 million people, I am just one which is nothing compared to. Most many not care about this as one can say I am just trying to live MY life, MY way and no one cares about my life other than myself.
But I truly believe we have set a dangerous precedent of elevating these people in society. For example, I am sick and tired of hearing, reading, and seeing media on the Kardashian, their family and friends, who hog up our news feeds. I get that I can keep strolling, ignore and move on, but its not as easy. Each day we are inundated with peoples lives, living their best lives and although again many will say well what is wrong with that, they are sharing, to each their own, keep strolling and ignore but for many its not possible.
Sick with Politics
What happened to being focused on improving oneself, reading, writing and the basics of making us better humans. That is why I write, I read, I work to improve myself and see every day our loss to what is important today. As we are now in the political season, TRUMP hogs the airwaves, BIDEN, HALEY, and the list goes on as we are forced to hear them talk incoherently about their issues, spreading their hate, anger at society, disagreements with how our country is being run like they can do better.
Truthfully, we are under an illusion that LIFE is and will get better although I hope it will, but wont because MAN or WOMEN are flawed, self-absorbed, greedy and for those who have everything that need in this life like money, why would they care about the No bodies.
We have a lot going on in our society that affect people every single day like homelessness, Hate, Crime, lack of care for society, Increase in suicides each year and basically being able to survive , when many are struggling just to make it while we look around and seeing many SUPER prosperous while others who work two – three jobs to put food on the table, to prevent being on the street as rent sky rockets , food prices are becoming out of touch and our families are suffering when we shouldn’t have to. Living in California I see that EVERY DAY and No it’s not that easy to pick up and leave especially when I don’t work a remote Job but do work for global company.
I Have Failed
I am tired, frustrated filled with despair for my family who I am failing as a father, where I truly do feel I am better off no longer in this world, allowing my family to cut my dead weight so they could live a better life.
I have now begun thinking more of my daughter’s future and what that looks like, being that she is eleven and one day will be eighteen and on her own and thinking of my Wife, who in my opinion have severely let down for working hard each day since marriage but not providing her the life I promised and hoped for her and us.
Celebrity Obsessed
As we continue to a more celebrity obsessed culture, people continue to mimic the rich and famous, even going as far as cosmetic surgery to look like their favorite star, some spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to make it happen, which I find preposterous. When will we as society learn, when we focus on that things that have meaning. How does focusing on celebrities, wealth, the rich help us and I know some of you may say well I like just to imagine that kind of life and not be obsessed and that’s ok.
Media Rules Our World!
I think we are mindlessly just too focused on media today as I grew up in the 80’s and 90’s, Generation X’er here as there was no social media , CGI, AI or anything that could be used to manipulate us into believing in realities that do not exist, self-obsessed . WHERE IS GOD? And I don’t mean to make it sound like GOD is not there, of course he is THERE, but Where is GOD in our lives to focus on what is important. I know we are human; we are flawed people and those who love GOD and JESUS get wrapped up in the beautiful, the money, having nice things, living rich beyond our dreams, but there is more to life than money, fame.
Basically, each day we focus on these things, we lose sight of the people in our lives, the loved ones which causes harm to our society and the people in our lives. I think we are also mindlessly following others and not thinking for ourselves anymore, failing to research ideas and thoughts automatically making someone else’s views our own without question, that is wrong. We are becoming Lazy in this world, and we are letting people control our thought process, we are losing our original thought and its sad.
People have Stopped Thinking for Themselves
We are on a dangerous path in our world and country as we continue to get worse with book banning, hate, no longer hiding our crimes but out in the open as people have no problem taking what they want, stealing, murdering and causing real harm. But what many may see is those who run our countries, states and local communities act with impumunity with their crimes.
I find it sad and interesting that we are so consumed with social media today, looking at others, their fake lives and now with generative A.I. and deep fakes how do we even know what is real anymore. How do we know we are talking to a real person epecially online when you have no idea who is on the other end. We are truly in days of Skynet and again films predicting what is to come, but we are suprised when it happens, WHY?
Not sure if this makes senses, but this was burning in my mind today. RANT OVER!
