Easter Beyond the Bunny: Embracing Spiritual Significance

He has risen, Happy Resurrection Day! Although this is not a happy event in the sense of what Christ had to go through to redeem each of us, but it was worth the price of his life. Doing the supernatural of rising from the dead, defeating death.

For those who do not celebrate easter in the Christian sense of going to church, focusing on Jesus, than that is okay in a sense as you still have time to know the importance of Easter and what it means. I get that for many it could mean the easter bunny, colorful eggs, meals with family and that is all nice and all, because I did that for most my life.

I remember growing up, Mom would always celebrate easter as children, yes we were taught about the easter bunny, egg hunts but church and the meaning was not always in the picture, but food was as mom would cook a ham with all the fixings and it was incredible, except it wasn’t because we sat at the table with a man who despised GOD and what he stood for but mom slaved over the kitchen to make sure my sister and I had the memory, along with an easter basket full of goodies and love.

Today that tradition carry’s on with my daughter since she was really a young child given magnificent easter baskets full of goodies and gifts.

Her Auntie Jenny would also give her a grand basket full of love, this the tradition I passed down to our daughter and its kind of expected over the years, but it has changed over the years of course, as she has grow up, but there is one stable which is greeting cards, I am fan, love them and it has been given to me since I was a child.

1 Corinthians 6:14

And God raised the Lord and will also raise us up by his power.

So yes, celebrate the easter bunny, spring and eggs and have peace today, but remember that was a man named Jesus who died for you and I so that our souls could have a place when we die, but only if we give our hearts to Christ. He died for all of us, because he loves you and I each despite what we think, especially when we go through adversity thinking God is not present, but he is, he is always there, because he rose from the dead to make sure he beat Satan.

Here are some easter scriptures:

Matthew 28:5-8

The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.” So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.

1 Peter 1:3

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead

For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.

That I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death
