Marking 2nd year work Anniversary with my current company, amazing how fast a year comes and go and it has been eventful year with lots to learn. I would like to think that after my last lay off in March 2023 I have been able to fully move on, but I have not. Although I am very thankful for our position and the incredible people I work with. The reminder for these last two years have been the financial turmoil that ensued from that layoff and how the build up in a way compounded. I will say that later this year that should all be behind me. The biggest struggle is myself, as I am my own worst enemy. The company I work for is an international company with over 50,000 employees, a juggernaut, for over 75 years.

I still give glory to GOD for opening this door, especially in today job market, and by September 2023 I was already broken from the past year. I don’t know what was worse the fact that I lost a job I really like, under an illusion by the company I was valuable and felt my career was on the right path, but God had other plans. Like any organization there have been new faces, coming and going of co-workers, life moments we have experienced together.

As a project manager it has gotten better, smoother, more at ease but still constantly learning and many of the customers are incredible. Over the last years my workload has increased and will continue to increase. Last year I spoke of the pay being on the lower end , but this year I received a good raise to make up from last year, which puts me higher at what was making when I was laid off.
Here’s to another great year in hopefully celebrating a milestone of three years next September.
