Introducing the Second Edition of “The Menagerie Locket”

Welcome to March—a time for new beginnings and fresh projects. I am excited to announce the release of the Second Edition of “The Menagerie Locket,” which will be available on March 17th.

This book follows my previous work “Pox” and marks my first venture into the realms of the paranormal and supernatural, all set against the intriguing backdrop of a circus.

Writing Journey and Influences

Compared to “Pox,” I found “The Menagerie Locket” much easier to write. The story draws from numerous influences, particularly within the paranormal genre and the unique lives of circus performers, topics I have explored extensively. In this edition, I blend the mystical aspects of a real Native American character with circus lore, creating a compelling narrative. Although the storyline remains consistent with the first edition, I have updated the prologue and redesigned the cover. The original cover was quite simple, reflecting my initial lack of experience in cover design, but I have since honed my skills and am proud of the new look.

Special Announcement: Folklore Book Release

I am also thrilled to share another upcoming release—my book of Folklore: History, Short Stories of Yaqui and Tohono O’odham Indigenous People, which will be published on March 30th.

This non-fiction work provides a detailed account of the histories and short stories from both the Yaqui and Tohono O’odham communities. The motivation behind this book is deeply personal, as my grandfather Moses was part Yaqui, which makes me, in turn, part Yaqui Indian. Adding another layer, the O’odham people were once close family friends. A particular individual, Albero Carruth, who was O’odham and a friend of my grandfather and father, is no longer living, but I have honored him by including him as a character in “The Menagerie Locket.” This connection is one reason I am introducing these two books together.

Respect for Indigenous Stories

I hold tremendous respect for indigenous peoples and their stories, which are often overlooked in our culture and rarely made public. Out of respect, I conducted extensive research to uncover and share these short stories, ensuring their voices and histories are preserved.

Invitation and Appreciation

I invite you to purchase both of these books and add them to your library. Your continued support is greatly appreciated, as always.
