I’m excited to present my latest book, Native American Folklore: History, short stories of Yaqui and Tohono Indigenous people. While the title is long, this work is born out of a deep passion for sharing the traditions and storytelling of these remarkable communities, bringing their histories and tales together for readers who wish to learn about and appreciate these vibrant cultures. Although I am not Indigenous myself, I’ve always felt a connection—my grandfather may have been part Yaqui, which means I might share that heritage.
Some might find it surprising that I’ve written this book, considering my previous works, yet I felt compelled to create it, a feeling that traces back to my writing of Menagerie Locket and its introduction of a Native American character inspired by a real person. I understand this genre isn’t for everyone, and this marks one of my first ventures into non-fiction, motivating me to pursue more projects like it.
I take great pride in this book and encourage you to pick up a copy when it’s released on March 31st. Join me on a spiritual journey as we revisit these cherished stories handed down through generations, narratives that risk being forgotten in today’s world, but which continue to celebrate the timeless art of storytelling.
