Holy week has arrived and for those believers this is by far the most important if not the most important time in Christianity when Jesus Christ died for the sins of the world. I understand that although society knows of this day called Easter, not everyone celebrates Christ’s resurrection and that many find this day to spend time with loved ones around the dinner table and enjoy a feast, add to that the Easter bunny. I am not shaming those who chose to not celebrate the way I do, but know that I pray for the world and others to know what Jesus did for all of us.
I do also know that there are those who do not believe in Christ, practice a different faith or have no faith at all. If anything, I want others know Jesus was a man, a real man who lived and died so that one day my soul can go to eternity, which is a comfort to me. It may sound like an oxymoron, because I often write about death, suicide ideation and I can only imagine others who read those post think, how can I think I would go to heaven if I was to end my life, that’s a sin. You are correct it’s a Sin, but I gave my heart to Jesus in belief that he will take me to heaven if I die naturally or unnaturally in this sinful world.
I do and continue to have the fondest memories of Easter growing up, mom cooking a honey baked ham, mashed potatoes, corn and most importantly LOVE. As children we would celebrate the easter bunny, egg hunts and sometimes Church, but at those times in my life the meaning was not always there for me, but it is today. Today that tradition carry’s on with my daughter since she was really a young child given magnificent easter baskets full of goodies and gifts.
What is it important today, is my daughter Mikaylah knows the meaning of Easter and what God did for her and I and the world. We still of course spoil her with sweets, because frankly we have done it for her all her life and I can help to be in the best of mood looking at the easter bunny, who always looks so happy hopping around.

And God raised the Lord and will also raise us up by his power.
So yes, celebrate the easter bunny, spring and eggs and have peace today, but remember that was a man named Jesus who died for you and I so that our souls could have a place when we die, but only if we give our hearts to Christ. He died for all of us, because he loves you and I each despite what we think, especially when we go through adversity thinking God is not present, but he is, he is always there, because he rose from the dead to make sure he beat Satan.
Here are some easter scriptures:
The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.” So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead
For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.
If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”
We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
Your dead shall live; their bodies shall rise. You who dwell in the dust, awake and sing for joy! For your dew is a dew of light, and the earth will give birth to the dead.
That I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death

God bless all of you this week, as today is Palm Sunday, which commemorates when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey the week leading up to his crucifixion and death. Although the people cried, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” and greeted Him with anxious expectation. However, by Friday, they would crucify Him. One week after He entered Jerusalem was the Resurrection of Christ, when He first appeared to the disciples.
