ALIEN-SQUATCH WAR: Why I Wrote This Book and What Readers Can Expect
A Release Years in the Making
It’s hard to believe that Alien-Squatch War is about to hit virtual shelves on June 30th. I began writing this book in September 2024, combining two lifelong fascinations: Sasquatch and aliens. What started as a simple idea-“What if Bigfoot and extraterrestrials co-existed?”-grew into something much larger, deeper, and more meaningful.
Shows like Finding Bigfoot and decades of science-fiction storytelling planted the seed. But the more I researched, the more I realized there was a real historical and cultural foundation behind these legends.
The Native American Roots of the Sesqua
One of the most compelling aspects of Sasquatch lore is its deep connection to Native American history. Many tribes describe the Sesqua (Bigfoot) not just as a physical being, but as a creature capable of moving between the physical and spiritual realms.
Some of the earliest depictions appear in Native art-including the famous petroglyphs at Painted Rock on California’s Tule River Reservation, created over 1,000 years ago by the Yokut people.
Across tribes, Bigfoot is often portrayed as:
- A guardian of nature
- A symbol of respect for the wilderness
- A reminder of the dangers of arrogance, disrespect, or wandering too far into the unknown
Even today, these stories continue to be passed down, not as hoaxes, but as cultural truths.
The Alien Question: Are We Alone?
Extraterrestrials have been part of human imagination for generations-from films and television to eyewitness accounts and unexplained encounters. Whether people believe or not, the evidence is there, and the universe is far too vast for humanity to be the only intelligent life.
We’ve explored only 4% of the universe. The rest-96%-remains unseen.
Historical accounts of alien encounters and abductions stretch back more than a century:
- 1896: Colonel H. G. Shaw reported being confronted by three tall, slender, hair-covered humanoids who attempted to abduct him.
- 1953: Man to Man Magazine asked whether flying saucers were capturing humans like butterflies.
- 1955: Harold T. Wilkins documented the mysterious disappearance of two men who claimed alien contact.
Like Bigfoot sightings, alien encounters are often dismissed-yet they persist across cultures, continents, and centuries.
Why This Story Needed to Be Written
I didn’t write this book just because I love Sasquatch and alien lore. I wrote it because I felt a deeper story calling to be told.
Originally, Alien-Squatch War was a straightforward “Aliens and Bigfoot vs. Humanity” novella. But as I wrote, the story evolved into something richer-a tale for anyone who has ever looked up at the stars or walked alone in the woods and wondered:
Are we truly alone?
This book became my way of exploring that question through myth, history, science fiction, and human resilience.
What Alien-Squatch War Is About
A Simple, Clear Description for Readers
Alien-Squatch War blends alien invasion, Sasquatch lore, and Native history into a high-stakes survival thriller. Earth is quietly taken over by Zorubian fleets who replace freedom with corridors and ration lines. Watchers-aliens disguised as humans-enforce the new order while Sesqua (Bigfoot) move through the forests as both myth and military presence.
After being captured aboard Fleet Command XP256, Misty and Kevin escape with stolen tech that can disrupt alien systems. Now hunted, they join Kablewy, a resistance network held together by three tones and strict secrecy. As the occupation deepens, the fight becomes a battle of procedure, discipline, and the courage to stay connected when the sky is listening.
It’s dark, tense, and full of world-building-a story where invasion feels administrative, and rebellion feels like learning a new language in the dark.
The Real People Behind the Characters
This book also carries personal meaning. Two of the main characters-Misty and Elizabeth (Liz)-are based on real women who were important in my life.
Misty
Misty was a high-school friend-kind, sweet, and someone I should have appreciated more. She passed away in 2005 at just 23 years old, leaving behind a child. Her married name was Misty Marie McKiernan Quintana. I wanted her memory to live on in this story.
Liz
Liz is someone I met in college-someone who showed me genuine attention and kindness. I didn’t recognize it then, but I do now. She’s alive, married, and living in Southern California. Her presence in this book is a tribute to what she meant to me.
These characters are more than fiction-they are echoes of real people who shaped my life.
A Challenging First Step Into Sci-Fi
Despite its novella length, Alien-Squatch War was one of the most challenging books I’ve ever written. It pushed me into new territory-world-building, alien cultures, mythic history, and procedural invasion. But it also sparked a passion for science fiction that I plan to continue exploring in future books.
Thank You for Reading
I hope you find this book fun, intriguing, and thought-provoking. Thank you for your support, your curiosity, and your willingness to explore the unknown with me.
Pick up your copy on June 30th-and welcome to the war.
