Can you believe we are already at story number seven in this reintroduction of my childhood stories. Certainty time flies as I go into a story that I feel was a forgotten animation from my past. As a child like most children I loved movies, especially disney animations and others non-disney which were just as good. One of the films I loved but I think has been forgotten is Oliver and company , childs twist on Oliver twist. Like most disney films there was music, which is one of favorite parts even today. Come with me to explore this film and maybe its a film you have never heard of or seen and I highly recommend you stream it or download it, I am sure its outthere somewhere especially on Disney plus.
Welcome to this Weeks Weekly Feature number #7, Stories from a child’s past, Stories unearthed from my childhood. These stories I am sharing as a young child I had and continue to have a love for writing.
The writings so far seemed to be when I was in between the ages of ten to thirteen. Many of the examples I provided do have typos, run on sentences and grammatical errors so don’t be surprised if see those.
As a young writer I just loved to write, putting aside punctuation, good sentence structure and my English teach would probably be lecturing me right now, you may want to lecture me, but know this is where my love began.

Oliver Twist with my Twist
For those who have read my stories, you will see a variety of topics ranging from the the Creature “IT” from Stephens Kings “IT”. You will most see stories created directly from my sick little mind at times about monsters, death, Pirates and funny kid’s stories.
This week entitled Oliver and Company, named after the animated film, by Disney released November 18, 1988. At least now we have a time line compared to my other works, but its hard to say if this was at the time of the film or after, if at the time of the I would turning about 9 years old.
The animated film is based on Oliver twist, nothing like getting you literature from a Disney movie, which Disney has done since many of its animated films were created. I have fond memories of this film for some reason.

But here is a little synopsis of the film – Oliver & Company is a 1988 American animated musical film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released on November 18, 1988, by Walt Disney Pictures. The 27th Disney animated feature film, the film is based on the classic Charles Dickens novel Oliver Twist, which has been adapted many other times for the screen. In the film, Oliver is a homeless kitten who joins a gang of dogs to survive in the streets. Among other changes, the setting of the film was relocated from 19th century London to modern-day New York City, Fagin’s gang is made up of dogs (one of which is Dodger), and Sykes is a loan shark.
On Fifth Avenue, an orphaned kitten named Oliver is left abandoned after his fellow orphaned kittens are adopted by passersby. Wandering the streets by himself in search of someone to adopt him, Oliver meets a laid-back mongrelnamed Dodger who assists the kitten in stealing food from a hot dog vendor. Dodger then flees the scene without sharing his bounty with Oliver. Oliver follows Dodger all throughout the streets until they eventually arrive at a barge, where Dodger shares his meal with a gang of fellow strays: Tito the chihuahua, Einstein the Great Dane, Rita the Saluki, and Francis the bulldog.

Once upon a time in New York City lived a dog name Dodger and one day he liked to take hot dogs away from the hot dog vendors and one day there live a cat named Oliver and one day he tried to take hot dogs from men and Dodger introduced himself and Oliver did was Dodger said to Oliver and Dodger took the hot dogs away from Oliver
and Oliver was looking all over for Dodger and he found Dodger in the lighthouse and he fell all the way down to the ground and the other dogs were curious about who or what fell into the boot and they found out that it was a cat and they asked Oliver what his name was and they showed Oliver around New York and Tito and he tried to get into the car,
but franchise pretended that the driver hit a dog and he got out and a whole bunch of ladies were hitting the driver and Tito got into the car and Oliver to and Oliver turned the car on and Tito got shocked to death and flew out of the car and went into trash can and he got out of the trash can before the trash man picked the trash up.
And a man and another man was supposed to pay the big man and he had a big German Shepard and they were looking all over the lighthouse and they saw a cat and Dodger scared them away from the lighthouse and the little girl got Oliver and took him home with her and there lived a poodle and she did not like Oliver and the poodle was so
Dodger and his gang went to find Oliver and the poodle was so frightened about them. Jumping in through the door and they locked out the driver of the car and Jenny was not in the house the time and when she got home from school she was looking all over her house for Oliver. The End
Synopsis
This Story is definitely one of my shorter stories of one of favorite animations as a child, loving the music that went along with it. This story details the story of a Cat Oliver, following Dodger a dog and his gang of dogs getting into mischief. So much mischief that Oliver gets to meet a wealthy young girl named Jenny, but in my version Jenny is not mentioned. I appeared to try to keep the story as simple as possible. Jenny takes Oliver in as her Pet, where Oliver meets a snobby Poodle who doesn’t like him.
Oliver was eventually brought out of Jenny’s home by Dodger bringing him back with him at a barge.
Life on Your Own
I look at this story and think that I must have really love this film at the time and identified with it. I loved animals, mostly a Dog lover, cat’s not so much. The story of Jenny was was particularly heart warming as she took Oliver in as her pet, loved him, but lost him too soon, eventually Jenny was ransomed but it all ended with a happy ending. I would recommend watching this classic film as it forgotten about at times.
This weekly feature was shortly then some of my other writings, I had moments like any writer where sometimes shorter is better and that ‘s ok. Hopefully this film brought fond memories for you as it did for me and will continue to bring you weekly features. Thank you for joining me!
Even today I look at this film and I still love the animation at the time and the story behind it. For children who dont know who Oliver twist I know I probably didn’t. Sadly I dont even think I have read Oliver Twist but have probably seen movie versions since I am sure there are tons of those.
This film centering around Dogs and Cats which wouldnt love a film like that. Dogs and Cats never go out of style even today kids love watching talking dogs and cats, fighting dogs and cats. Which leads me to one of the other films I loved around this time in my life was “All Dogs go to Heaven” another one of my favorites.
I have a nine year old who has no interest in these films even though I have tried to get her to watch them, Kids today!
