Just looking at the title of this story with Adventures of Cookie the Dog and it brings back incredible memories of my dog Cookie. Cookie was the family dog , a dog given to us by mother and who was given to her by an aunt. This dog was given to my grandparents Isabel and Moses she was a small golden Terrier. What makes her so memorable is the years she was with us, it felt like it was forever over twenty years at least. But one of the most memorable things about cookie would be she would literally smile at us when we would come to visit her. It was so bizarre because she would lift her upper lip and smile with her teeth. She was a housedog , well loved , but like any dog she got old and died of natural causes. My father apprently buried her in the back yard, which at one point when I would go discover in the backyard accidently dug her bones up. He basically had a pet cemetry in the backyard with old dogs and cats.
Fond memories flood to mind when I think of this dog and that is what inspired this childhood story. I believe I have a picture of cookie somewhere. As you can see I have a love of animals and that was always because we had animals growing up from Dogs, cats, Turtles, Ignanua , fish and that about covers it, oh an a pet parret double yellowhead, a sheepdog, a collie and red ear slider turtle.
Welcome to this Weeks Weekly Feature number #8, Stories from a child’s past, Stories unearthed from my childhood. These stories I am sharing as a young child I had and continue to have a love for writing.
The writings so far seemed to be when I was in between the ages of ten to thirteen. Many of the examples I provided do have typos, run on sentences and grammatical errors so don’t be surprised if see those.
As a young writer I just loved to write, putting aside punctuation, good sentence structure and my English teach would probably be lecturing me right now, you may want to lecture me, but know this is where my love began.
Joining for the first time, please take a look at my previous Weekly Features.

The Story of Cookie
For those who have read my stories, you will see a variety of topics ranging from the the Creature “IT” from Stephens Kings “IT”. You will most see stories created directly from my sick little mind at times about monsters, death, Pirates and funny kid’s stories.
This weeks story is straight out my imagination, but there references to me about where this story may have come from, one would be that I actually had a dog named Cookie, a female terror given to us from a family member, it was actually given to my grandparents. This dog lived for many years, but one of the most incredible things I remember is she used to smile when me and my sister would come visit.

Cookie would raise her upper lip smiling, wagging her tail. She was a yellowish color and our family loved her very much. Dogs have always been in my life, I currently don’t have one due to living in an apartment and the cost is so high to have one.
The other reference with this story is to one of favorite childhood movies “Benji”. Benji resembles Cookie in many ways, such as the size and color, so I am guessing this is where I got this idea.

Long ago a dog named cookie and he loved to go places like the mountains and the forest, the valleys and he like to go places and meet all kinds of different animals and he ate different kind of foods, but he was suppose to be on a diet and he had trouble catching his own food and one day this man found cookie and took him home with him and treated him very well and fed him, but he wanted to get out of the house because he heard the man say he was going to shot him, but he took it the wrong way because the shoot was suppose to be going to take a picture of him so cookie ran off to somewhere far away, but he had no choice. But to run back to his land and the land he lived in Australia and he loved his land but the people who brought him was very nice and he lived with a police man, but every time he took him in his police car every day. The end.
Synopsis
The story cookie is about a dog named cookie, the type of dog is not mentioned, but I have only known one dog named Cookie which is my own dog.
Cookie goes on a journey through the mountains, the forest and valleys, until one day a man find’s her. The man is very kind to Cookie, feeds him/her, until one the day the man speaks of shooting Cookie, but Cookie misunderstands and thinks the man is going to shoot and kill cookie, but he was going to shoot photos of Cookie and him.
In fear, Cookie runs away, trying to get back to Her/His land which it appears Cookie is from Australia. Cookie now meets a kind Police Man and the police man takes care of him/her and drives him/her in his police car every day.
Life on the Run
Not sure why, but I tend to write as a child about going on adventures, I felt as a child I always wanted to run away from my troubles in home, often times I was verbally abused by my grandfather who lived with, hoping for a better life. My mother of course cared for my sister and I, she defended us but were at the mercy of my grandfather because we lived with him.
I like that cookie found two happy families, although the first man he/she misunderstood, but eventually found the police man. Not sure where Australia came from, I must have had some fascination with Australia
This weeks weekly feature is shorter and some of my stories are really short, but often displaying what I was thinking about the time. This story I was in the 5th grade, because my teacher Mr. Foder was my 5th Grade English teach which made me about 10 years old.
I hope you enjoyed today’s story come back next week for all new Weekly Feature.
Benji was probably the closest kind of dog to what cookie looked like and Benji is a film I love today. Man or women’s best friend continues to transend time with what these animals do for us each day.
Thank you for joining me once again on this childhood journey!
